Industry Information

Commercial and military aviation is experiencing a critical shortage of 602,000 pilots, 610,000 aviation maintenance technicians (AMT), 899,000 cabin crew members and other critical aviation and aerospace positions over the next 20 years. This represents more than 2,111,000 jobs; 105,550 annually.   These numbers are exclusive of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) sector, which will add an additional 300,000 jobs, air taxis and administrative support positions driving the demand even higher.

See the 2022 - 2041 Boeing Pilot and Technician Outlook Report on future talent shortages.

This shortage in trained and experienced personnel is alarming and requires unprecedented and innovative measures to fill the shortage. We are working to address this critical pipeline issue facing our nation's aviation industry.
